In the center of a mandala a delicate flower is born, bringing new life and hope, which melts away the remaining ice from a long winter. It’s colored bright yellow from the Sun to warm up a sad heart with strength and joy. It gently reminds us that is time to let go of the old and welcome the new. The 12 petals represent great understanding and wisdom. Knowledge that is gained from life experiences which enables a sense of calm to prevail in even in the most turbulent situations.
Hues of green are illuminating the entire mandala. Green symbolizes self-respect and well being. It contains the powerful energies of nature, balance, growth and harmony. It is also the color of the heart chakra.
Change and transformation is necessary for growth, and so this ability to sustain changes is also a part of the energy of green.
As the mandala continues to grow it forms a white lotus flower, which sits on emerald leaves of love. As a lotus is able to emerge from muddy waters unspoilt and pure, it is considered to represent spiritual enlightenment; a person who carries out their tasks with little concern for any reward and with a full liberation from attachment.
The completed mandala is surrounded by 12 little fireflies to remind that which is within us will always illuminate us and those around us.
